Q: Who can volunteer?
A: Anyone in 8th grade or higher! We accept volunteers of all ages and genders.
Q: What is the time commitment like?
A: The time commitment varies depending on what team within Madam Math Circle you are volunteering with! The number of hours volunteered may increase prior to starting a new season (spring, summer, fall). The schedule for volunteering is typically very flexible. We require that you initially commit to four weeks of an hour each. A two weeks notice is required prior to leaving the team.
Q: How are volunteer leadership positions decided?
A: Volunteer leaders are decided through an interview and application process. If you have applied for a leadership position we will be in contact with you within the next week!
Q: What are you looking for in a volunteer?
A: We are looking for volunteers with good work ethic, dedication, and most of all drive to serve others. Previous volunteer involvement, experience with kids and/or in competitive mathematics is always appreciated.
Q: Can I get volunteer hours?
A: Madam Math Circle is not currently a non-profit organization which means that we are limited as to who accepts our hours. If you are a student at Valley Christian High School, we can approve your hours. If you attend another school, we will talk to your school about getting your volunteer hours approved.
